What does it do?
Provides a mitigation method against bots/scalpers attempting to secure product using automation.
Validates that Shopify cart/checkout actions for protected products have a valid, promoted CrowdHandler signature.
Failure to present a valid signature at the point of execution will cause the Checkout Validator to attempt to refuse add-to-cart/checkout requests.
Prerequisites
- Shopify Plus/Enterprise
- One-Time installation link provided by CrowdHandler engineer (support@crowdhandler.com)
- Shopify user account with permission to create checkout rules and install custom applications.
1. Add a checkout rule
Go to your Shopify store settings and click Checkout
Scroll to the bottom of the Checkout settings and add a click Add rule
Select the cart-checkout-validaton option.
Leave unticked. We recommend not allowing orders to be processed without validation.
Click Turn on to activate the rule
The rule should look like this when active
2. Tag products
Tag all the products that require protection with ch-checkout-validator
Make sure to save your product!
